Rare Tau Decays

The possibilities and challenges for studying rare decays of the r with the large data samples from a tau-charm factory are discussed. These studies involve expected decays of the r like multihadronic channels, suppressed decays like 2nd class currents or Cabibbo suppression, and possible unexpected decays.
